REGIONAL OFFICES
Hines Italia
Located in Milan, the Hines Italy Regional Office was established
in 2000. Since that time, Hines has successfully completed three
projects in Milan totalling 56,237 square meters. Current projects include Garibaldi Repubblica, a mixed-used urban redevelopment project by Cesar Pelli, Varasine, also a mixed-used redevelopment in Milan, and Isola Lunette an adjacent residential project.
A Current Regional Initiative
Garibaldi Repubblica is a mixed-use urban redevelopment project on a 34.3-acre site, master planned for 2.47 million square feet (229,443 square meters) of office, residential, fashion exhibition, retail and hotel space. It will include a 26.6-acre public park, museum and university facilities as well as a new City Hall and Region of Lombardy headquarters campus. Over a six-year period, Hines will develop 831,000 square feet (77,200 square meters) split among the various components of this mixed-use project.

In 2001, Manfredi Catella joined the firm as the officer
responsible for developing Hines' Italian projects. From
1995-2000, he was employed by JPMorgan Chase, Milan, where
he was director, a member of the board and the head of
asset management. From 1994 to 1995, Mr. Catella worked
as a financial analyst for Heitman Capital Management
in Chicago. He also worked for Fructiger, Caisse Centrale
des Banques Populaires, in Paris as an assistant portfolio
manager for property fund (1992-1994), and for JPMorgan,
Milano (1991-1992). Mr. Catella received his undergraduate
degree in Economics from Università Cattolica del
Sacro Cuore in Milan and his Master of Urban Planning
and Real Estate from Politecnico of Turin. He also completed
the advanced Management Program London Business School,
London.
