Hines Poland Office

Hines has been active in the Central and Eastern European market for over 15 years, completing residential, office and mixed-use developments in the Czech Republic and Russia. The establishment of Hines Poland in 1997 expanded the interests of Hines Europe to Poland.

Regional Initiatives

Hines Polska's first completed project in Poland was Metropolitan (37,000 square meters) in Warsaw, and it has received several international awards, including the prestigious MIPIM Award for Best Office Development in the world in 2004. The residential complex "Apartamenty Impresja" (27,000 square meters) was the second project completed in Warsaw. In 2010, another Class A office building, Sterlinga Business Center, was issued with a certificate of lawful use. The building is located in Lodz and offers over 13,400 square meters of office space. Hines Polska is also involved in the development of a residential complex in Gdansk. Quattro Towers is comprised of four towers with a total usable area of almost 25,000 square meters. The planned date of completion is the fourth quarter of 2011. In April 2010, Hines Polska started the construction of its second project in Lodz - Arboretum (22,000 square meters) that will include 315 flats as well as a prestigious high-rise residential tower located at 2/4 Twarda Street in Warsaw. The building was designed by world-renowned architect Helmut Jahn. Completion of the project is expected in the first quarter of 2013. Hines Polska s also in the planning stages of an office building in Gdansk. The Class A office building will contain 15,000 square meters of space.

Since joining the firm in 1997, Mieczyslaw Godzisz has worked to effectively position Hines in Poland's real estate market. He played a key role during the development process of Metropolitan, a 37,000-square- meter office development in Warsaw. Mr. Godzisz has been instrumental in securing several new residential and office projects in Warsaw, Gdansk, Lodz and Kraków for Hines-managed funds. Projects completed and under construction, in which Mr. Godzisz participated or led, exceed 230,000 square meters of usable space. Since joining Hines in 1997, he has built a team of nearly 30 people in three offices in Poland. Prior to his career at Hines, Mr. Godzisz was a business adviser at Arthur Andersen (1992-1997). Mr. Godzisz earned his M.A. degree in Arabic Language and Culture at Uniwersytet Jagiellonski (Kraków) in 1992 and his M.B.A. degree at the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago, in 2001.
