REGIONAL OFFICES
Hines Southwest Regional Office
As the founding location of the firm, the Southwest Region
has been an active area for Hines since 1957. Its regional activities
include project presence in Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio,
Phoenix, Denver and Albuquerque. Signature developments include
the Houston and Dallas Gallerias and the dozens of buildings
surrounding them; a large portion of buildings that define the
downtown Houston skyline; Hines’ headquarters building — Williams
Tower; hotels in Houston, San Antonio and Dallas; major
office projects in Denver and Phoenix; and a 10,000-acre planned
community in suburban Houston. In addition to its core office
development and management skills, Hines Southwest Region has
experience in land development, and arts and cultural, mixed-use,
sports and medical facilities.
A Current Regional Initiative
24th At Camelback is a mixed-use project located at the southwest corner of 24th Street and Camelback Road, one of the most dynamic corners in Phoenix’s Biltmore area. The 10-acre site, has been planned to complement the surrounding streetscape and provide tenants with dramatic views, has been developed in phases. Hines completed the first phase in June 2000. The second phase, a 208-unit condominium named Optima Biltmore Towers, was developed by Chicago-based Optima and opened in 2006. Pickard Chilton of New Haven, who designed the first office building, will also design the second. The design, while not identical to the Phase I building, will include sweeping horizontal planes, powerful geometry and careful attention to detail. The new building will include ground-floor retail space and a 1,040-space parking structure.
