• Reducing pollution to air, land and water throughout the construction process, and reducing reliance on the car through innovative transport strategies

• Limiting energy use and reducing carbon emissions

Hines aims to implement a constant process review.  In the UK this covers a range of activities designed to deliver against our sustainability commitments including:

• Annual post-completion reports evaluating progress against policy objectives
• Identifying and making recommendations for continuous improvements
• Setting targets for all future projects  
• Ensuring environmental and sustainability considerations are a key requirement of every project approval process carried out by Hines UK teams 
• Conducting research to understand tenants’ sustainability needs
• Embedding best practice and innovation in sustainability management internally
• Measuring and comparing Hines UK’s sustainability commitments against business peers and government policy
