In January 2011, Hines formed a dynamic new Multifamily Division to expand the firm's apartment development activity throughout the U.S. by working with Hines' domestic regions on for-rent residential

programs. Led by Senior Managing Director Alan Patton, an industry veteran, and a team of residential specialists in Houston, the group

works with senior-level personnel in each Hines regions including: John Favreau (West); Kevin Batchelor (Southwest); Steve Luthman (Midwest); Jon Wood (Southeast); and Jim Dunlop (East). These regional development specialists bring years of experience managing quality, high-density multifamily projects. Regional personnel are responsible for site sourcing, product design and development, and financing. Hines' multifamily team is able to tap into the rich resources and expertise existing within Hines to deliver projects that will be distinguished in their respective market areas. Within a year of forming the group, Hines is on track to become a major player in the U.S. multifamily sector.

WaterWall Place Houston, TX

Hines is honored to be developing a key three-acre parcel overlooking the signature feature of Uptown Houston, The Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park, which was developed as part of Williams Tower. WaterWall Place will be nestled between The Galleria and the park, providing 322 high-end residential rental units and associated amenities. Construction began in summer 2012 for occupancy in third quarter 2013.

As of summer 2012, Hines' Multifamily Division has nearly 5,000 units in 14 projects in various stages of development. They are located in 12 cities across the United States, including: Atlanta; Cambridge, MA; Houston; Miami; Minneapolis; St. Petersburg, FL; and Rockville, MD.
