(SEATTLE, WASHINGTON) -- Hines, the international real estate firm, held a private grand opening celebration Wednesday evening, December 4, at their new 40-story, 845,000-square-foot IDX Tower at Fourth & Madison. The tower is the first premier high rise to be developed in downtown Seattle in more than a decade. As part of the celebration, Mayor Greg Nickels and Hines President Jeff Hines officiated at a ribbon-cutting ceremony, which took place at the base of the building’s five-story atrium. An unveiling of the site-specific art-glass façade over the building’s 3rd Avenue entrance also took place. In addition to cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and musical entertainment, guests visited the building’s 39th floor for dessert, coffee and dramatic views of Puget Sound.
Construction on IDX Tower at Fourth & Madison began in October 2000. The building is currently 84% leased to tenants including: IDX Systems Corporation; Preston Gates & Ellis LLP; Deloitte & Touche; UBS PaineWebber; Regal Financial Bank; and Bright Horizons Child Care Center.
