Williams Tower
Houston, TX
Completed in 1983, Williams Tower is located adjacent to the famous Galleria mixed-use center, which was also developed by Hines. This dramatic 64-story, 1.4 million-square-foot office tower is a product of the award-winning architectural team of Philip Johnson and John Burgee. The tower was designed to provide the major tenant with all the advantages of a private facility while maximizing land value by including additional multi-tenant speculative space. In order to meet the tenant's requirements, the building functions as two buildings stacked one on top of another, each with its separate elevators, lobbies and garages. Additional special features include a soaring 88-foot-high granite arched entry, an adjacent three-acre park with a 64-foot water wall, a helipad and a revolving beacon of light atop its peaked roof. In 2008, Hines REIT assumed ownership of the property. In 2013, the building was sold to Invesco.
