Douglas J. Abbott

Mr. Abbott is Senior Vice President, Worldwide Tax and Ownership and is responsible for oversight of the Hines tax department and family office. He is a member of the firm's Audit Committee and 401(k) Committee. He joined Hines in 2019 after a 37-year career in Public Accounting. Prior to joining Hines, he was the Ernst & Young, LLP Tax Engagement Partner on the Hines account.

Abbott earned his BSBA from Ohio State University and his law degree from the University of Houston. He is a Certified Public Accountant and licensed attorney.
