(LOS ANGELES) – The Los Angeles office of Hines, the international real estate firm, announced today that 12100 Wilshire has received Gold certification under the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® rating system for Existing Buildings (EB), making it the first and only building in the Brentwood submarket to achieve the Gold level.
Hines undertook numerous sustainability measures, including: lighting retrofits; implementation of variable speed drives; reduction of water consumption by 42 percent; implementation of comprehensive recycling programs (reducing landfill waste by 58 percent); and the introduction of a high performance green cleaning program and the Hines’ GREEN OFFICE for Tenants program.
With an ENERGY STAR® rating of 97, 12100 Wilshire is 49 percent more energy efficient and annually saves $1.69 per square foot in energy costs when compared to the national average office building.
This translates to estimated annual greenhouse gas reductions equivalent to removing 285 passenger vehicles from the road.
12100 Wilshire is a 350,841-square-foot, 19-story office building located at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Bundy Drive in the Brentwood submarket of West Los Angeles.
Designed by Tracy Price Associates and completed in 1985, the property was acquired in 2007 by the Hines Value Added Fund II, L.P.
