Hines Earns ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award

Portfolio is 41.6% more energy efficient than the national average

(HOUSTON) – Hines, the international real estate firm, is proud to announce that it received the 2020 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award for continued leadership and superior contributions to ENERGY STAR. This is the 16th time Hines has been recognized by the EPA and the 13th time Hines has received the Sustained Excellence Award.

“This is a great honor, and we’ve had the privilege to partner with ENERGY STAR for more than 20 years. While the world looks a little different this year, to remain a partner of choice, we must be both nimble and focused, with an unparalleled dedication to quality, service, innovation and sustainable value. As we all ride out this storm together, I can assure you that our 4,560+ team members around the world are still hard at work and we pledge to continue providing a superior tenant experience well into the future,” said Hines President and CEO Jeffrey C. Hines.

Hines’ portfolio of ENERGY STAR buildings consists of 231 facilities and more than 90.5 million square feet. With an average performance rating of 84.8, the portfolio is 41.6% more energy efficient than the national average.

“I salute the 2020 ENERGY STAR award winners,” said Anne Idsal, EPA Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation. “These leaders demonstrate how energy efficiency drives economic competitiveness in tandem with environmental protection.”

The highest honor among ENERGY STAR awards is the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence Award. EPA presents the Sustained Excellence Award to partners that have already received ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year recognition for a minimum of two consecutive years and have gone above and beyond the criteria needed to qualify for recognition. Winners hail from small, family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 organizations—representing energy-efficient products, services, new homes and buildings in the commercial, industrial and public sectors.
