1251 Avenue of the Americas

1251 Avenue of the Americas, formerly known as the Exxon Building, opened in 1970. Located on Sixth Avenue (also known as Avenue of the Americas), between 49th and 50th Streets, in Manhattan, New York City, it is currently owned by Mitsui Fudosan America and serves as their North American Headquarters. 1251 features a public plaza with a two-tiered reflecting pool, virtually column free floor plate, high perimeter window to floor area ratio, space saving 4’8" window bay modules and virtual floor to ceiling windows. 1251’s lobby was recently renovated in 2021 and is open to the public. The east and west concourse entrances, which connects 1251 to Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and the 6th and 7th Avenue subway lines, were also recently renovated and features full height video displays with custom video art as well as information (weather, subways, and neighborhood). An amenity center is currently being constructed in the C1 level of the building, with expected completion at the end of 2022, and will include a lounge, meeting rooms, auditorium, café and fitness club.
