The four-story, double-core 55 Railroad was originally designed in 1975 by Emery Roth & Sons. Hines conducted a multi-million-dollar, Robert A.M. Stern-designed renovation in 2002, which included a glass and steel canopy entrance, a 90-foot-long water wall, terraced landscaping and lobby refurbishments. Paired with these aesthetic improvements was an upgrade of the energy management system, electrical infrastructure and life safety systems.
