John Carr

John Carr serves as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Hines Europe.
In his role, John is responsible for all aspects of finance and accounting across the firm’s European platform, which includes investment, development and management of real estate across all product types. As a member of the senior leadership team, he also plays a key role in Hines’ investor and lender relationship management activity.
John is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Baylor University. He joined Hines in 1997, becoming Regional Controller for the American West Region. He then moved to Beijing between 2006 and 2011 as his role was broadened to include Hines’ Asia Pacific Region, before returning to the US and continuing to serve both regions up until his appointment to the firm’s European leadership team.
Prior to joining Hines, John was as an Audit Manager at a big-four accounting firm, where his experience was heavily concentrated on the real estate industry.
