In 2019, Hines purchased two plots of land totaling more than 1.2 million square feet (115,400 square meters) in Hamm, Germany to develop Distribution Park Hamm.
The logistics complex comprises two buildings designed to deliver the utmost in flexibility and efficiency. Located in eastern Ruhr, a booming logistics district, Distribution Park Hamm features flexible floor plans with up to 783,268 square feet (72,768 square meters) of logistics and office space. The project has high-end environmental credentials and is expected to receive a platinum DGNB sustainability certificate by the second quarter of 2022. Among other things, leading-edge sustainability characteristics of the building include recyclable facade elements, high-quality insulation materials, sensor-controlled LED lighting, a photovoltaic system, load houses and the integration of local flora and fauna. In addition to structural measures, one of the buildings utilises a combined heat and power plant enabling a carbon neutral operation.
The project was sold to PATRIZIA AG after timely completion end of 2021. Due to its excellent location in the Rhine-Ruhr and high-end specifications, the complex was fully leased while under construction to Arvato Supply Chain Solutions, ADVANSA, and online grocer Picnic.
