Since joining Hines in 2005, Steve has been instrumental sourcing and executing new investment and development opportunities in the firm’s Midwest Region.
During his tenure with Hines, he has been involved in the early formation of the firm's multifamily strategy and also led the capital raise for a major discretionary pan-Canadian investment mandate. He has led the prototype development for the use of mass timber in the T3 office development in Minneapolis, which was not only the firm’s first timber building, but also the first major multi-story U.S. office building to be built of wood in the last 100 years.
Despite his professional achievements, his proudest accomplishment is leading the firm’s Midwest recruiting campaign to bring new talent onboard and mentoring the next generation of Hines leaders.
For Steve, the most rewarding parts of the job are the people and projects. He adds, “We are fortunate enough to work with the best investors, architects, bankers and contractors globally on substantial projects that meaningfully contribute to making our cities great places to live and work.”
Reflecting on what makes Hines a unique place to work, Steve continues, "Many people have been at Hines for decades, which speaks to the incredibly strong culture we have. This tenure also allows for institutional wisdom and experience that aids our investor clients in making smart investment choices during cyclical changes in our market. I have been fortunate enough to work with some of the finest real estate investors in the world and help inform their investment decisions."
