(HOUSTON) – The Houston office of Hines, the international real estate firm, announced today that Ecopetrol America Inc., an oil and gas company involved in exploration and production in the Gulf of Mexico, has signed a long-term lease at Williams Tower for 6,682 square feet.
Ecopetrol America Inc. is a subsidiary of Ecopetrol S.A., which is mostly owned by the Colombian government.
The firm is establishing their U.S. headquarters with this office.
Ecopetrol America Inc. was represented in lease negotiations by Trey Miller and Michael Townsend with Moody Rambin Interests.
Chrissy Wilson and Allison Knight of Hines represented Hines REIT, the building owner.
Pablo C. Ferrante and Thad Armstrong from Thompson & Knight LLP provided legal advice to Ecopetrol America Inc. in the transaction.

The 1.5 million-square-foot, 64-story Williams Tower is located at 2800 Post Oak Boulevard.
With the signing of this lease, the tower is 82 percent leased.
