HEKLA Receives The Golden Stone 2019 Award for the Best Program

Hines, the international real estate firm, announced today that HEKLA in Paris La Défense, developed by Hines and AG Real Estate and acquired by AMUNDI Immobilier and PRIMONIAL REIM, has been awarded the La Pierre d'Or 2019 Award for Best Real Estate Program. This award was presented during the Grand Gala Evening held on January 31, 2019, at the Elysée Montmartre.

Patrick Albrand, President of Hines France stated, "We are proud to receive this prestigious award in recognition of HEKLA in Paris La Défense. This project is the result of the work and know-how of all the Hines and AG teams and embodies the scope of our architectural and innovative ambitions. Work began in August 2018 with Vinci Construction France and is progressing smoothly. We are delighted and eager to see HEKLA erected in the skyline of Paris La Défense by 2022.”

Arnaud Guennoc, Managing Director of AG Real Estate France states, "The HEKLA project fits perfectly into the new district of La Défense with a bold architecture by Jean Nouvel, one of the greatest architects of our time. It illustrates the desire to meet the most demanding criteria in terms of comfort, health and well-being of future users. As a new generation tower, HEKLA aims to achieve the highest levels of French and international environmental certification and will be an important milestone in the development of AG Real Estate in France.”

Located 300 meters from "Cœur Transport" in the town of Puteaux in Paris La Défense, HEKLA is part of the redevelopment of the new Rose de Cherbourg district into a true urban and green living space. The site developer, PARIS LA DEFENSE, plans a high-quality urban development with the requalification of the ring of the circular Boulevard that evolves around HEKLA as a planted and vegetated promenade inspired by the New York High Line.

HEKLA embodies the result of a close collaboration between Ateliers Jean Nouvel for their talent, AG Real Estate and Hines for their experience in major commercial projects, as well as AMUNDI Immobilier and PRIMONIAL REIM for their confidence and investment in the development of this emblematic project.

At 220 meters high, the HEKLA Tower will develop 76,000 square meters of commercial space on 48 floors that can accommodate up to 5,800 employees.

Both flexible and innovative, HEKLA anticipates new ways of working and living. Designed with a strong architectural gesture, it will rebalance the skyline of Paris La Défense. AG Real Estate, Hines, Amundi Immobilier and Primonial REIM are convinced that HEKLA is a unique and coherent place for a company with major business prospects.

The awards ceremony is a major event in the real estate world, since its creation in 1998 by Pascal Bonnefille and the writing of Immoweek, "Les Pierres d'Or" highlights the greatest professionals in the sector.
