(New Delhi/ Gurgaon) – A joint venture of Hines, the international real estate firm, and DLF Limited, India’s premier real estate leader, today announced the start of construction on One Horizon Center, a project which will redefine Gurgaon’s cityscape.
The project will include an international-quality 25-story office tower with accompanying retail space.
Construction has reached ground level and is rapidly moving upwards.
The tower is located on Golf Course Road, on a site directly opposite the DLF Golf & Country Club, in DLF’s Phase-V.
The project, which is Hines’ first in India and its first with DLF, is scheduled to be complete in 2013.
One Horizon Center will be the architectural centerpiece of a mixed-use complex master planned by award-winning American architect Robert A.M Stern. One Horizon Center will be Robert A.M. Stern Architects’ first development in India.
One Horizon Center will include 800,000 square feet of office space, 65,000 square feet of retail space, a large outdoor plaza and four levels of underground parking that will accommodate 1,700 cars. The project will reflect Hines’ global standard of quality, unmatched construction and superior property management.
While emphasizing the state-of-the-art facilities at One Horizon Center, Vice Chairman of DLF Ltd. One Horizon Center will include sustainable features that will make it a healthier, more productive place to work, with a smaller energy footprint. The project has been designed according to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certified sustainable development criteria. Sustainable features will include: a dual-pane glass façade to reduce thermal gain; floor plate depths that maximize natural light; and advanced air handling units, to name a few.
The project also features the most technologically advanced, yet cost-efficient building systems available, including high-speed computer controlled elevators, an intelligent building management system for maximum efficiency and flexibility, state-of-the art security with electronic card-key access, and an extensive, automated life-safety system.
