Hines Announces The Square at The Bowen Building in Washington D.C.

Hines’ Flexible Workspace Platform to Open Four New Locations This Year

(WASHINGTON DC) – Hines, the global real estate investment, development, and property manager, along with JPMorgan Chase, today announced that The Square, Hines’ flexible workspace platform, will open at the Bowen Building, in Washington D.C. this fall. The historic Bowen Building, located at 875 15th St. NW at the corner of McPherson Square, is owned by JPMorgan Chase and home to their regional headquarters, and managed by Hines. This marks The Square’s fifth location globally, with additional locations in Houston, Salt Lake City, and Mexico City.

The Square at the Bowen Building will deliver a solution for today’s hybrid workforce needs, that combines hospitality-driven property management and high-quality furnished offices and suites in a modern Class AA space. The Square offers flexible memberships by the hour, day, month, or year and a variety of floorplans and offerings, designed to accommodate company sizes ranging from start-ups to larger enterprises.

  • Enterprise suites: large private suites range for teams of 25+ that feature private amenities, including kitchenettes, printer stations, conference rooms, and individual offices.
  • Private offices & suites: enclosed customizable offices for teams of 1-75.
  • Shared workspaces: for a dynamic workday. Members gain access to a large communal lobby lounge, a café space, private phone booths, a roof deck lounge with Wi-Fi, and conference rooms.
  • Memberships: monthly access that allows teams to use communal spaces, dedicated desks and meeting rooms, including mail receiving services.
  • Services and customizations: The Square offers space customization including design and branding, furniture, IT infrastructure and hospitality services to align with each company’s design and experience standards.

The Square at the Bowen Building, which is already 20% pre-leased, can accommodate up to 225 people in total, spread across 30 offices and three suites. Members will have access to all building amenities including an expansive rooftop with views of the National Mall, lounge and event space, and a fully equipped fitness center. They will also gain access to The Square’s network of collaboration and office spaces, including Mexico City, Houston, Salt Lake City, and a growing list of additional cities.

The 12-story, 231,000 square foot Bowen Building is newly renovated with the main lobby and interiors redesigned by STUDIOS Architecture, incorporating state-of-the-art building technology and systems, while the original historic beaux-arts limestone facade was restored and retained.
