Hines Appoints Tim Jowett to Lead Research in Asia

(HONG KONG, S.A.R.) – Hines, the global real estate investment, development, and property manager, today announced the appointment of Tim Jowett as managing director, head of Asia research. In this new role, Jowett will leverage Hines’ proprietary research framework, including spot price-based return forecasts as well as next-gen risk and locational analytics among other tools. His work will support business and investment opportunities across the region and for the firm’s Asia-focused funds.

Jowett will construct the Hines outlook for commercial real estate market fundamentals and pricing, a key contributor to investment strategy. He will be based in Hong Kong, reporting to Josh Scoville, global head of research.

“Tim’s experience, deep knowledge of regional markets within Asia, and track record of leveraging insights to make strategic fund and portfolio management decisions make him an invaluable asset to our team,” said Josh Scoville, global head of research at Hines. “With Tim at the helm of our research efforts in Asia, we will continue to drive success in the region’s ever-evolving real estate landscape and meet the objectives of our investors."

Jowett brings more than 20 years of experience in the real estate research and investment industry, almost 15 of which have been with a focus on the Asia property markets. His responsibilities over this career have spanned all aspects of private equity investment including research, acquisition, asset management, portfolio management, and capital raising.

Prior to joining Hines, Jowett was at Grosvenor Asia where he was managing director and head of Greater China for several years following his role as director of investment strategy and analysis. Previously, Jowett led or served on research teams alongside investment teams at Heitman, Moonbridge Capital, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, and JP Morgan Asset Management.

Jowett earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from King’s College London and has a postgraduate diploma specializing in financial strategy, with distinction, from the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.
