Hines Launches Conceptual Construction Group in Asia Pacific

Sefton Campbell, former Lendlease executive, joins Hines to lead the practice in APAC

(SINGAPORE) – Hines, the global real estate firm, today announced that Sefton Campbell is joining the firm as managing director, conceptual construction. He will establish and lead the Conceptual Construction Group (CCG) in Asia Pacific and report to Andy Trowbridge, executive vice president, conceptual construction. The CCG has been operating for over 40 years, is in 22 markets, and has grown to a team of 34 experts.

The CCG covers market analysis, competitive benchmarking, architect and consultant selection, design management and coordination, bidding, contracting, and management of every aspect of the preconstruction phase of a project.

Sefton joins Hines with over 22 years’ experience across a diverse range of asset classes including urban regeneration, mixed use, commercial high rise, residential high rise, health, retail and transport in both project preconstruction, design and delivery and execution capacities. He joins Hines from Lendlease, an internationally listed property group specialising in project management and construction and real estate investment and development where he held senior roles for the group’s projects in Asia and Australia.

“As Hines continues to expand globally, Sefton’s hire is the first step in solving the strategic need to grow the CCG team in Asia,” Andy said. “His in-depth, local knowledge experience working across all asset classes and skilled construction expertise will allow him to tailor our services in a localized manner as we work together to successfully implement our global preconstruction practice across the region.”

“I look forward to working closely with our strong regional teams to grow the platform and enhance our activity and initiatives across all major product types,” Sefton stated. “Hines has a best-in-class reputation for development, investment expertise, quality and innovation, and I joined to implement and enhance our value-add proposition.”

Since inception in the U.S., the service has analysed and refined the pre-construction phase of projects resulting in an approach to development that has been tested and proven on hundreds of buildings around the world. To date, the conceptual construction team has worked on 258 million sq ft of developments globally, of which, 41 million sq ft is in industrial and logistics, and 30 million sq ft spans the living sector. The group participated in the original formation of the LEED® rating system and has been involved with green building and sustainability initiatives across the globe.
