(WASHINGTON, DC) – The Washington office of Hines, the international real estate firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of Scott Murray from Vice President to Senior Vice President-Operations in the firm’s East Region.
Murray joined Hines in 1987 as Operations Manager for the Galleria mixed-use development in Dallas. In 1990, he transferred to the Galleria in Houston and was promoted to General Manager. In 1995, he was promoted to Senior Manager for the Hines retail portfolio, and in the late 1990s, was an instrumental part of the team responsible for the disposition of the Galleria in Houston.
In 1999, Murray relocated to Barcelona, Spain, where he spent four years working on the management, branding, marketing and launch of the Diagonal Mar Centre, an 84-acre mixed-use development which was later sold to the German Pension Fund, DEKA.
In 2003, Murray relocated to New York and was promoted to Vice President.
His responsibilities included coordination of all property management activities in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey, as well as growing the firm’s property management fee business.
In 2009, he relocated to Washington, DC, where he will continue to oversee the firm’s East Region management organization as well as identify future growth opportunities.
