(HOUSTON) – Hines, the international real estate firm, today announced two high-profile additions to its Capital Markets team. Joining CEO of Capital Markets Chris Hughes, who also serves as Co-Head of Investment Management, will be Cameron Falconer and J.D. Sitton. The expanded team is part of a new strategy for Hines’ investment management platform.
Falconer transitions to his new role as COO/Deputy Head of Capital Markets from the firm’s West Region with significant experience serving investors through development and acquisitions totaling more 15 million square feet. He will remain in San Francisco. The team will be responsible for coordinating capital raises for flagship discretionary funds and strategic separate accounts, as well as orchestrating and supporting coverage of important real estate investors globally. Falconer will report to Hughes.
Sitton, who joins Hines from JPMorgan Asset Management, will serve as Senior Managing Director, Capital Markets–Americas. Based in New York, and reporting to Falconer, he will lead the capital raising team in the Americas and partner with Senior Managing Directors Michael Haas in Europe/MENA, Young Lim in Asia Pacific and Mark Earley, CEO of Hines Securities, Inc.
Hughes stated, “Our institutional and retail capital raising teams are now a single Capital Markets Group built for scale, and we are well-positioned to leverage our strategic competitive advantages and present a unified face to investors around the globe.”
This expanded and targeted approach to capital markets and investor coverage will provide Hines with a dynamic pulse on capital flow and continue to translate the firm’s worldwide perspective on what investor partners are looking for into attractive and actionable guidance for our regional business units to inform deal sourcing and vehicle allocation.
“Hines has worked for some of the largest and best global investors. Our goal is to expand our existing relationships and introduce our full-service capabilities and diversified products to new investors as well,” added Falconer.
