(HOUSTON) – Hines and Ivanhoé Cambridge, international real estate firms, along with WiredScore, announced today that Texas Tower, the 47-story, one-million-square-foot office tower under development in Houston, has achieved the designation of Wired Certified Platinum.
Texas Tower is the first Wired Certified Platinum ground-up development in Houston, confirming the office project’s user-centric focus. A secure, reliable and fast internet connection is one of the top factors sought after by tenants — as well as a crucial pillar in the tenant experience. Texas Tower will have the capacity to accommodate any tenant connectivity requests, as well as offer maximum redundancy to decrease the chance of downtime and have multiple internet service options for primary and back-up connections.
Texas Tower’s certification continues the track record of Hines and Ivanhoé Cambridge project developments that have received designations for their focus on optimizing the experiences of individuals, such as River Point (Chicago) and CIBC SQUARE (Toronto).
“Texas Tower delivers on an entirely different level with environments that work as hard—and as smart—as its tenants. The building is designed for robust IT connectivity and redundancy as well as readiness to improve as technology evolves. We believe this differentiates us from other offerings,” said Hines Senior Managing Director John Mooz.
“Texas Tower combines innovation and forward-thinking infrastructure to help tenants stay connected to their colleagues, community and clients — anytime, from anywhere within the building. A Wired certification confirms our offer of total, reliable connectivity and our focus on helping our partner tenants in their efforts to continuously meet their employee needs,” said Jonathan Pearce, Executive Vice President, Leasing and Development, Office and Industrial, North America at Ivanhoé Cambridge.
Designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli, Texas Tower will aim to reduce energy consumption without compromising tenant comfort, to achieve the highest sustainability, connectivity and wellness standards — LEED® Platinum, WiredScore Platinum and WELLTM v2 Building Standards, respectively. Construction of Texas Tower kicked off in July of 2018. Already 33% leased, the building is scheduled to open in late 2021.
