In 2017, Hines, in partnership with European real estate investment platform Henderson Park, acquired the Athens Ledra Hotel, formerly the Ledra Marriott, marking the firm's entry into the Greek market.
Centrally located on Sygrou Avenue in Athens next to the Onassis Cultural Centre and within walking distance of the old town of Plaka and the Acropolis, the property underwent an extensive renovation and was rebranded as a Grand Hyatt hotel.
The grand opening took place in August 2018, marking the first Hyatt hotel in the Greek capital and the first Grand Hyatt in Greece. The 309-bed luxury property combines dramatic architecture with innovative design. The property’s rooftop offers a penthouse restaurant and outdoor swimming pool with impressive views of the Acropolis.
