(RALEIGH, NC) – Hines, a global real estate investment, development, and property manager, along with partner Columbia Development, today announced three office tenant additions to Fenton, the 92-acre mixed-use district now open in Cary, North Carolina. The leases, totaling approximately 75,000 square feet, were signed by American Tower, a leading independent owner, operator, and developer of multitenant communications real estate; HHHunt, a diversified leader in real estate development and management throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast; as well as the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, known as “CAMPO.” These companies join current tenant, Compass Residential, bringing the office portion of the project to nearly 50% leased.
The retail portion of Fenton is 92% leased featuring major retailers such as Sephora, Warby Parker, Bluemercury, Pottery Barn, Madewell, CRU Food & Wine Bar, and Sports & Social, which will be the Triangle’s largest sports bar at 22,000 square feet, to name a few.
“We are delivering a new kind of workplace to Cary that offers a highly amenitized environment, which we believe is key for talent collaboration, attraction, and retention,” said John Heagy, senior managing director at Hines. “Fenton represents a blueprint for the next generation of office space, where shopping, dining, and entertainment offerings come together. We look forward to welcoming our new tenants and their employees.”
American Tower leased office space at Fenton, creating a new home base for the leading independent owner, operator, and development of multitenant communications real estate, which has a portfolio of nearly 225,000 communications sites and a highly interconnected footprint of U.S. data center facilities.
“American Tower has had a key office presence in Cary, North Carolina, for more than two decades. We were drawn to the Fenton development as a unique new offering in this market that’s conducive to a ‘work, live, and play’ environment and provides a breadth of amenities for our 250+ employees based here. Leasing at Fenton enabled efficiencies with our space requirement while benefiting from a location where options for collaboration and community-building for our employees will extend beyond the walls of our office,” said Jason Hirsch, SVP Corporate Real Estate & Investment Support Services at American Tower Corporation.
HHHunt signed a lease for 11,683 square feet. Founded in 1966, HHHunt is recognized as a trusted leader in the new home building, planned community, and multifamily sectors, with communities in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. CAMPO signed a lease for 13,086 square feet. CAMPO is the regional transportation planning organization serving communities in Franklin, Granville, Harnett, Johnston and Wake Counties, with the new office serving as their headquarters.
John Heagy and Brian Eichenseer of Hines represented ownership in all three transactions and Doug Brock with Newmark represented American Tower.
